A Weird Luigi Secret Just Appeared In Super Mario Odyssey

UPDATE: Twitter user Cartridge Games has found the location, which uncovers an 8-BIT Luigi as well as a bunch of coins. The game then gestures that you can do something with this Luigi icon, but it’s unclear exactly what that is.

A few weeks ago, a bunch of new hint art was datamined out of the latest Super Mario Odyssey update.

Well, fast forward to today where Nintendo just tweeted out one of the leaked hint images with the caption “Use the hint in this image to help you find where treasure is buried. Do a Ground Pound in the right place and you’ll get something good”.

It’s unclear where this is or what you’ll get for finding the location, but surely it must be something better than a power moon for Nintendo to tweet it out.

  1. I can confirm this.

I found it out by thinking about upside-down triangles, and realized that the upside-down pyramid in the Sand Kingdom was my first clue. Then I looked around for smaller upside-down pyramids, and the one in the southwest corner of the map (where you pop out of the warp painting) was where I found it.

Sadly, since I have maxed out my coin count playing Balloon Mode, I don’t know how many coins I got from the 8-Bit Luigi.
