Warframe Is Coming To Nintendo Switch

During TennoCon 2018, developer Digital Extremes announced that its often under the radar, sci-fi, free-to-play co-op shooter Warframe is currently in development for the much beloved Nintendo Switch.

The announcement occurred at the third annual TennoCon, a convention focussed entirely on Warframe, which is taking place in Ontario, Canada. The trailer above accompanied the announcement.

The port is being handled by Panic Button, the capable team behind a lot of the system’s best ports so far including Rocket League, Doom and, of course, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.

Hopefully, Digital Extremes will have more to share in regards to a release date not too far into the future and perhaps a bit of information about whether cross-play might be a possibility. Given the grinding nature of Warframe, having to start afresh would deter a lot of veteran players, I’d have to imagine.

Either way, it’s great to see even more franchises making their way to the system.
