The HTC Vive Focus Doesn’t Need A PC Or Mobile To Work

HTC have just announced the HTC Vive Focus. It’s a standalone VR headset that doesn’t require a PC or mobile phone. According to early reports, it’s an all-in-one headset from HTC, so technically there’s mobile phone tech inside the headset, but you won’t need any external tech to use it.

It’s unclear, but unlikely that this will play fully blown Vive VR games such as L.A. Noire and the like, but it’ll be interesting to see where this kind of tech goes in the near future. The other thing worth mentioning is the fact that it definitely looks quite bulk (due to the tech being inside).

A release date and pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but hopefully that information should come in the near future.
