The Master Chief Collection Just Got A Lot Of Long-Requested Features

While it does still receive regular content updates, The Master Chief Collection just received its latest content drop which includes a number of long-awaited and asked for features.

In a blog post, 343 Industries shared the news that Halo 3: ODST, which came to the game several years ago, would, at last, be receiving Floodfight, a version of the game’s popular PVE mode Firefight. Not only do the scary, infectious foe the Flood make their presence known in the mode, but the team has blanketed the map in fog to enhance the atmosphere.

The mode also brings with it three new enemy variants: Infected civilians, infected ODSTs, and infected Elite Majors.

Players will also be excited to learn that Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST will now both support co-op crossplay between Xbox platforms and PC. The developer warns that, despite being tested internally, issues might be encountered as the update rolls out to a wider audience.

The team has set up a reporting system for any bugs encountered.

In another cool move, the developer is adding a bunch of Skulls that were previously exclusive to anniversary editions of Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 to other games in the collection. However, the team did again warn that experimenting with them might have adverse effects on the gameplay.
