Outlast 2 Will Now Release In Australia After Successful Classification Review

After originally being refused classification in Australia, it’s been revealed to us, that after a review by the Australian Classification Board, Outlast 2 will now release in Australia.

The game will release on April 26th and will now be rated R18+. The scene in question, that implications of sexual violence, will be included in the Australia version of the game.

In a statement provided to Press Start, Red Barrels confirmed that there will only be one version of the game worldwide:

“Outlast 2 has been rated R18+ by the Classification Branch in Australia and will be released 26th April 2017. There will be only one version of Outlast 2 available worldwide.”

Outlast 2 will release on April 26th for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

As you can see in the official rating by the Australian classification board, the game will have High impact of Themes, Violences and Sex.

  1. Australia – the NANNY country. Where you are told what to think and jailed if you have a differing opinion under 18c. Apparently only children play games in Australia so all games must be censored.

  2. HOLD YOUR HORSES, when you say only one version in the world, do you mean a censored version for the world or the full uncensored version? I somehow doubt the Australian censorship board had a sudden epiphany on the fact that a modern and free society should never censor anything but let everyone choose what they want to see.

    1. I don’t think that we did it as you put it. If you look into that screen above on the 4th line it says “Version: Modified”. So I think the game is now censored worldwide and we are all screwed on this one.
