Bethesda Is Releasing An Unannounced Game This Year (Supposedly)

It’s been a strange few days for Bethesda Vice President of PR and Marketing, Pete Hines. He was featured in a video from Ten Syndicate saying that there would be an unannounced Bethesda game released this year. When asked about whether this game was the rumoured new IP from Bethesda’s internal studio, Pete Hines wouldn’t answer.

After the fact, Hines was asked on Twitter what the game was but then replied that he probably had a concussion from the beating he took online and was rambling so to ignore it.

Many took this as Pete Hines striking down the theory that an unaccounted title would be releasing this year (especially considering the fact that Dishonored: DOTO, Wolfenstein II, The Evil Within 2 and Quake Champions are all coming out), but after a few more tweets, it now appears that he was joking with that initial tweet and a there is a new Bethesda game coming out this year that hasn’t previously been announced.

I’m sure that you’re confused and I’m definitely just as confused. I’m not really sure if Pete Hines is just messing with us at this point or if there’s actually a new Bethesda came coming out this year. Bethesda are known for announcing big titles (such as Elder Scrolls) at the Video Game Awards, but it’s hard to see them announcing something so big for release this year.

Could it potentially be that Game of Thrones game that has already leaked a few times? Possibly, but whilst this does feel like a holiday title, you’d think it’d have to be announced very, very soon to release in November/December.

Regardless, it’s going to be a huge end of year for Bethesda. They’ve already got a stacked lineup. I’m very keen to play Wolfenstein II and The Evil Within II.
