Star Wars Battlefront II’s Single Player Campaign Will Last 5-7 Hours

Earlier this week, I got to play through the earlier portions of Star Wars: Battlefront II’s single player campaign and speak to Motive’s studio producer David Robillard about the single player campaign specifically.

As soon as the single player campaign was announced earlier this year, gamers were questioning the length. We’re now happy to report that the campaign will last roughly 5-7 hours which actually seems quite decent based on the quality of what we’ve played so far.

In regards to the campaign’s length Robillard stated, “…we thought that around 5-7, maybe 8 hours is probably a good amount of time…we wanted to stay very driven towards the Star Wars fantasy that the players are going to experience and not have it be drawn out.” All up, my playthrough of the first three chapters amounted to around an hour and a half of gameplay.

As reported earlier in the year, Battlefront II will not have a paid season pass and instead all maps, modes and characters will be available for free. When asked about the possibility of some free story-related DLC Robillard said, “We’re not ready to announce anything at this time, we’ll see based on the reception the single player has, if we offer free DLC or not.”

Star Wars Battlefront II will release on PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC on November 17th.

  • Oh good, just what I was looking for, a short throwaway campaign just like Battlefield 1, a campaign I highly doubt I'll bother playing through again upon completion.

You know it's amazing really, Call of Duty hasn't really be known for it's Campaign for a long time, yet Infinite Warfare, a game loads of people were saying was garbage, had a fantastic campaign, took me around 20+ hours to complete on Veteran, but nope, 5 - 7 hours for this one, lovely, nice to see people are accepting of this short time aswell.

    • Stop supporting them and things may actually change. Give them your money and they will continue and bath in idiots money. Gamers have no one to blame but themselves. They winge like bitches then make no stand.

      • The cost of developing games primarily due to complexity has skyrocketed over the last decade.... wake up to your self... sit down and have a cup of tea and calm down..

      • Things won't change if I don't buy this game or the next, the logic that if we stop buying them, they'll stop being douches about this stuff, is flawed in that I'm basically not buying something and denying myself the enjoyment of playing the game, yes, the campaign is the same length as Battlefield 1's campaign, but does that mean I won't have fun playing it, Arcade and other modes alike? No it doesn't, this isn't something that's going to change overnight and not buying something only achieves as I said above.

Unless everyone stops buying, nothing is going to change anytime soon, anytime soon being the next 5 - 10 years.

  • Nice. Looking forward to this if I can afford it...still would love if this were co-op campaign. Not enough of them.
