EA has today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Respawn Entertainment. Respawn are best known for their work on Titanfall 1 and 2. The company recently announced that it would work on a Star Wars game as well as a new title in the Titanfall franchise and also a VR gaming experience.
“We’ve seen firsthand the world-class caliber of Respawn as a development studio with incredible vision, deep talent and an inspiring creative mindset,” said Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts.
“We started Respawn with the goal to create a studio with some of the best talent in the industry, and to be a top developer of innovative games,” said Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn Entertainment.
Titanfall 2 is regarded as one of the best FPS experiences of this generation, so it’s great to see the developer snapped up in a position where they can hopefully develop more games in a safer environment.
