EA Now Have The Most Downvoted Reddit Post Of All Time

EA have had their fair share of controversy over the last 24 hours, with the continued debate about whether star cards and loot crates in Battlefront II are fair or not.

The latest outrage is surrounding credits required to unlock heroes. People believe that you will need to play the game for far too long to unlock iconic characters such as Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.

The credits required work out to the below:

  • Iden Versio: 20,000 Credits
  • Chewbacca: 40,000 Credits
  • Emperor Palpatine: 40,000 Credits
  • Leia Organa: 40,000 Credits
  • Darth Vader: 60,000 Credits
  • Luke Skywalker: 60,000 Credits

In response to this, a Reddit user posted in the Battlefront community saying that he was disappointed that Darth Vader would be locked behind such a huge amount of credits, considering he was forking out $80 for the game.

The EA Community Team replied to the thread saying that it’s the intent to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment. It is now the most down-voted Reddit post of all time with almost 75k downvotes. Every time I refresh the article, it goes up by thousands. This is already more than triple the amount of the next amount of downvotes on a post.

The full statement by EA is below:

The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes.

As for cost, we selected initial values based upon data from the Open Beta and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before launch. Among other things, we’re looking at average per-player credit earn rates on a daily basis, and we’ll be making constant adjustments to ensure that players have challenges that are compelling, rewarding, and of course attainable via gameplay.

We appreciate the candid feedback, and the passion the community has put forth around the current topics here on Reddit, our forums and across numerous social media outlets.

Our team will continue to make changes and monitor community feedback and update everyone as soon and as often as we can.
