Leaks in the gaming industry are extremely common, but I can’t remember a time where 10 minutes of direct footage of a game leaked before the gameplay had been properly revealed by the publisher.
On the FIFA Subreddit, 10 minutes of FIFA 19 gameplay has leaked showcasing the brand new menus, the UEFA as well as some new gameplay mechanics and UI changes.
Through this video we’ve also learned about some new options for kick-off including “house rules” as well a “best of series”. The video then shows off about 50 minutes of Manchester City VS Manchester United.
We also get to learn about some of the gameplay mechanics (which I also got to try out at E3 earlier this year).
CHANGES IN FIFA 19 GAMEPLAY
UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
Play the pinnacle of club football across a variety of matches in FIFA 19 with official match presentation, breadth in tournament experiences, including UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europe League and UEFA Super Cup, and an all-new commentary team in Derek Rae and Lee Dixon.
ACTIVE TOUCH SYSTEM
The new Active Touch System fundamentally changes the way you receive and strike the ball, providing closer control, improved fluidity, creativity and increased player personality.
With 50/50 battles, user reactions and player attributes determine the outcome for winning loose balls across the pitch. With increased teammate intelligence and spatial awareness, every challenge matters in the fight for possession.
A re-imagined system gives players the tools to set multiple tactical approaches, offering in-depth customisation pre-match, as well as more options for dynamic in-match adjustments from the D-pad.
Pressing the shot button for the second time just before your player kicks the ball will give you ‘Perfect’ timing with more accuracy, curve and speed, giving you more control to get that perfect contact. Poorly timed second input will result in less accuracy, curve and speed, creating risk vs reward situations.
