The Fallout 76 Beta Will Be The Full Game, But The Game Won’t Be On Steam

A bunch of Fallout 76 beta information has been released as we presumably get closer to it taking place. There’s been a lot of speculation about the beta, due to the fact that Bethesda hasn’t held a beta for a AAA title before.

It has been confirmed that the Fallout 76 beta will in fact be the full game, with progression hopefully going across to the final version of the game.

“Our current plan for the B.E.T.A. is it will be the full game and all your progress is saved for launch” Bethesda noted on the Fallout 76 beta FAQ.

Bethesda also confirmed that the beta as well as the full game won’t be released on Steam. In an email to PC Gamer, Bethesda confirmed that Fallout 76 would only be available via Bethesda.net.

These two things are likely to be linked, but obviously not being on Steam will mean that you won’t be able to invite Steam friends into your game, which is quite a big deal for a game that is multiplayer focused.

Bethesda also recently confirmed that the players would be invited into the beta all at once, after it was confused that those that pre-ordered would only be invited in bit by bit.
