After an eternity in limbo, production may soon start on long-talked-about Uncharted film according to the film’s director, Shawn Levy. Discussing his upcoming films in an interview with Playlist, Levy claimed, “the closest to the starting line is ‘Uncharted’.”
“We now have a very good script and we have our star in Tom Holland. That is now subject to schedule and additional casting. But I would say as of right now, that seems to be the most near horizon. And it’s a movie I’m very excited about.”
Tom Holland became attached to the film early last year confirming the film would follow Nathan Drake in his youth. Shawn Levy, best known for his work on Stranger Things, was announced as the film’s director in October 2016, with the script completed in January 2017.
The news comes not long after a near-perfect fan-made Uncharted film, starring Nathan Fillon, whet our appetite for a feature-length adventure with Drake. For fans, this latest tease will be welcome news.
