It’s been confirmed by multiple Naughty Dog employees as well as Sony’s PR team that The Last Of US Part II will just be a single player experience.

It comes as a bit of a surprise as Naughty Dog has been hiring for multiplayer positions directly in relation to The Last Of Us Part II.
Neil Duckmann confirmed to the Telegraph: “It’s so ambitious the game doesn’t fit on one BluRay, it’s on two discs. It’s so ambitious that we actually decided to make it single player only. There’s no multiplayer in The Last of Us Part 2. We wanted to take all of the resources to make this the biggest game we’ve ever done.”
Lead Game Designer, Emilia Schatz confirmed the news to US Gamer: “We’re focusing on a single-player experience, so we’re just making a single-player game for this,” Schatz
The Last Of Us Part II releases exclusively for PS4 on February 21st.
