PS5 3D Audio Will Only Work With Headsets Initially With TV Speaker Support To Come After Launch

Sony has confirmed that its PS5 3D Audio engine will only work with headsets/headphones that connect by either USB or by using the 3.5mm port in the DualSense controller. Sony also have given a new look at the 3D PS5 headset which is optimised for 3D audio.

They have also confirmed that support for virtual surround sound in TV speakers is being worked on but that this will come post-launch.

In terms of games, Sony confirmed the below games will support 3D audio among others: Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Astro’s Playroom, Gran Turismo 7, Returnal, Destruction AllStars, Demon’s Souls, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Horizon Forbidden West, Resident Evil Village
