Metacritic has released their annual publisher ranking and it showed that Sega had the best games of 2020 with an average review score of 81.6 out of 100. Games such as Persona 5 Royal and Yakuza 0 meant that they had a number of highly ranked releases last year, that shot them to the top of the list.
The ranking has 48 publishers and coming in second place were Annapurna Interactive and Capcom. When it comes to first-party publishers, Sony took out the fourth spot with (ranked 22nd last year), Microsoft were in sixth place with (ranked 7th last year) and Nintendo were in ninth spot with (ranked 3rd last year).
Other publishers of note were Activision Blizzard in fifth spot, 505 Games in 13th spot (last year’s winner), Ubisoft in 14th spot, Bethesda in 16th spot, EA 21st and Take-Two in 22nd spot with.
