Call Of Duty Warzone Finally Has 120hz Refresh Rate Support On PS5

Call Of Duty Warzone has had 120hz refresh rate support on Xbox Series X pretty much since it launched back in November, but it’s been missing from the PS4 version when running on PS5. This all changes today with the latest update introducing 120hz support for the PS5 version of the game. The announcement was made by Raven Software in the latest patch notes.

It still seems to be the PS4 version of the game and I could be wrong but I think this is the first game to not get a proper PS5 version and have 120hz support, which is interesting. This potentially means that Sony has made it possible for PS4 games to utilise 120hz on PS5, which may unlock this for more games without getting a full PS5 version.

It has been long thought that it’s much easier to implement a 120hz mode onto Xbox One games on Xbox Series X without fully upgrading them than it is for PS4 games running on PS5, so it’s unclear if this means that Sony is working with developers to make it easier.

We’ll keep you posted as we know more, but for those of you with HDMI 2.1 TVs and a PS5, get playing some Warzone in sweet 120hz.
