Last year we reported on rumours that a remake of The Last of Us was headed to PlayStation 5, and while Naughty Dog and PlayStation are yet to confirm or deny those rumours some more information has come to light that suggests the remake is real and could be released this year.
Industry insider and frequent leaker, Tom Henderson, took to Twitter to share that multiple sources claim that The Last of Us Remake will release in the second half of 2022. Henderson also claimed that the remake could release alongside, or adjacent to, the The Last of Us II Factions multiplayer mode and a ‘Director’s Cut’ of The Last of Us II.

But I think the overall goal here is to drum up hype for the HBO show, so we'll see what happens – And to be honest, Q3/Q4 2022 for Sony looks a little lackluster at the moment. So we'll see what happens!
Exciting times ahead! 😀

As always, rumours like these should be taken as just that – rumours – so it’s not enough for us to go sliding this one into our “17 PS5/PS4 Exclusives To Be Excited For In 2022“, but it’s potentially exciting nonetheless.
