Kingdom Hearts IV Will Be Developed Using Unreal Engine 5

Despite its reveal trailer being rendered using Unreal Engine 4, Kingdom Hearts IV is set to move its development over to Unreal Engine 5.

As reported by VGC (who are translating Famitsu’s work in covering the recent anniversary event for Kingdom Hearts), “the full game will be made with Unreal Engine 5, and the quality of lighting and detail will be several levels higher.”

Considering the reveal trailer was already staggeringly pretty, this is sure to be exciting for fans of the series.
