In an update on the oft-delayed Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, posted this morning by the official Prince of Persia Twitter account, the game’s development has shifted from Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune to Ubisoft Montreal.

While it’s a shame the game’s development has seemingly got to a point where Ubisoft have had to intervene, it’s encouraging for series fans at least that the remake is now in the hands of the same development team behind the original Sands of Time series.
There was an expectation at one stage from within Ubisoft to ship the Sands of Time remake within their current fiscal year, but given the shift in development that’s now looking unlikely.
The embedded update from the team does promise an “update on the progress [of the game] in a future update.”
