Red Dead Redemption Grand Theft Auto 4

Red Dead Redemption And GTA 4 Remasters Were Put On Hold So Rockstar Can Focus On GTA 6

This is good news

A Rockstar insider by the name of Tez2 who has successfully leaked information about upcoming Rockstar information in the past such as GTA Online content has revealed information about their upcoming plans.

The insider has said that “as per a reliable source with clear accuracy on Rockstar’s plans, remasters of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption 1 were on the table a few years ago, but Rockstar chose to not proceed with the projects in mind …. The poor reception of the Trilogy DE might be a reason behind that decision”.

Kotaku has now packed up this claim, but also gone on to say that one of the main reason why these remasters were put on hold at this time was to fully focus its efforts on GTA 6, which Rockstar confirmed was in active development early this year.

Obviously, given the huge nature of both of these titles, a remaster in the future isn’t out of the question, but it makes sense that Rockstar would want to focus on its next big entry at this point, especially after the mild reception of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition.
