The PlayStation Network appears to have been down for most of today, with users reporting an issue starting at 10am, and it still being down at 1:30pm AEST.
On the PlayStation Network website, Account Management, PlayStation Store and Gaming and Social are all down with the warning:
“You might have difficulty launching games, apps or network features. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”
“You might have difficulty signing in or creating an account for PlayStation Network. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”
Looking at Down Detector, 1000s of Australians have reported issues with PlayStation Network.
It’s unclear what’s causing the issue, but interestingly enough there was a glitch this morning that showed game news as backgrounds on PS5, which PlayStation tweeted out that had been fixed, which may be the case, but it may have broken PlayStation Network in the process.
A tech error with the Official News feature on the PS5 console has since been resolved. There have been no changes to the way game news is displayed on PS5.

At the time of writing, PlayStation hasn’t acknowledged PSN being down, but we’ll keep you posted if there’s anything major that changes or pops up.
