It’s been about a year, but Netflix is going up in price yet again in Australia. As of today, the price is going up anywhere from $2-3 a month depending on the plan that you’re on.

The Standard with ads plan now cost $9.99 a month (up from $7.99 a month), the Standard plan now costs $20.99 a month (up from $18.99 a month) and the Premium plan now costs $28.99 a month (up from $25.99 a month.

NEW NETFLIX PRICES

  • Standard with ads – $9.99 a month ($2 monthly increase)
  • Standard – $20.99 per month ($2 monthly increase)
  • Premium – $28.99 per month ($3 monthly increase)

Comparatively, Netflix is now by far the most expensive streaming service when compared to the likes of Stan, Disney Plus, HBO Max and Binge especially at the premium end.

As always, the standard with apps plan gets you 2 streams at 1080p (with ads), standard gets you 2 streams with 2 offline downloads and paid extra members whilst the premium tier gives you 4K streams with HDR and 4 streams at the same time.

There wasn’t any specific reason given for the price increase, but it isn’t hugely surprising given almost every streaming service has gone up in recent times.
