The Aussie Xbox Academy Will Teach People How To Design Games For Free

The team at the Microsoft Store, Sydney has today announced the launch of the Xbox Academy. It’s a video game centric educational course that will offer Aussie students a way to learn more about game design.

The Xbox Academy will bring in educators from the Academy of Interactive Entertainment to teach 3D animation and visual effects.

Workshops will go for three hours and fees will be completely covered by the Microsoft store. They’ll be happening from April 10th to 22nd during the April school holidays. It’ll be open to students aged 14+. You can register HERE.

Course content includes:

  • Game Programming: How to Build an Adventure Game
  • Game Design: Design the Next Blockbuster
  • Develop Games on Xbox One S

All graduates will receive a certificate from the AIE and a range of Xbox swag ranging from Xbox Academy t-shirts and hoodies, to gamer pins, drink bottles, bags and USBs to take their creations home.
