Turok And Turok 2 For Xbox One Still Aren’t Available In Australia

Eagle-eyed gamers may have noticed their overseas friends tucking into the hotly anticipated Turok remasters from Nightdive Studios which, from all accounts, a pretty stellar as far as remasters go.

Sadly for us on Australian shores though, the dinosaur hunting classics haven’t emerged on our local Xbox Games Store yet.

Neither game has been rated by the Classification Board as yet, so it can only be assumed that it’s an overarching issue with the rating systems employed by Xbox to screen digital releases. After all, this isn’t the first time a title hasn’t seen release for Xbox down under with Celeste and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter still oddly absent despite being released on other platforms a while ago now. Though it’s more curious about the cases of Celeste and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, as they’ve both been certified and seen release on other platforms in Australia.

Interestingly, Celeste was certified using IARC, a system that simplifies the certification of digital goods for developers by way of a questionnaire which, at present, isn’t a system that Microsoft supports in certification.

We’ve reached out to Microsoft for comment on the matter but until then, the Turok remasters are still available on Steam.
