CD Projekt Reckons It’s Still Too Early To Bring Cyberpunk 2077 To Xbox Game Pass

As part of its earnings reports for Q3 2021, CD Projekt held an investor Q&A this week where it was asked if it would consider bringing Cyberpunk 2077 to the hugely successful Xbox Game Pass service.

As reported by VGC, the company’s answer revealed that it doesn’t believe it’s the right time to do so, at least not yet.

CD Projekt’s President Adam Kici?ski responded, “We always consider any business opportunity, but this kind of subscription model is good at a certain moment of the lifecycle of the product, so not too early.”

“Witcher 3 was for some time in a subscription, but we have to weigh the benefit and cost each time, so we have to compare it to sales, so it’s a decision based on data. It’s way too early for Cyberpunk.”

Elsewhere, CD Projekt revealed that the new-gen versions of both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 are likely to meet their new target release dates next year and that it’s hard at work on 2077’s first paid expansion.
