Nintendo previously announced in 2017 that a new Fire Emblem game would be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Today, in their E3 Nintendo Direct, they revealed that game to be Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
Three Houses marks the first time the franchise has been on a home console since 2007’s release of Radiant Dawn on the Wii over ten years ago.
In Three Houses, players will take control of three main characters – Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude – who play key roles as to how the story unfolds. You’ll be able to free maneuver your character around the world to interact with other characters and build relationships in the good old fashioned Fire Emblem way.
The battle system remains turn-based but with some new strategic twists too – you’ll be able to guide formations of troops on the battlefield to support individual units.
The latest trailer is filled with the trademark melodrama that the series is renowned for, so have a look below.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses releases exclusively on Nintendo Switch in the American Spring next year. We’ll update you with local release details as we get them.
