In recent years, eSports has grown to become an integral part of gaming. More importantly, it has found its place in Oceania, where an ever-growing eSports scene has been established.
As part of their commitment to fostering that scene, ASUS Australia yesterday held an event called ‘Play It Cool’, that we were fortunate enough to attend. Primarily, the event was to officially launch the first ever ASUS ROG Gaming House, home to Legacy eSports, comprised of five professional League of Legends gamers from across Australia. In addition, the event also offered an opportunity to see the brand-new ASUS GX700 gaming laptop.
Following that briefing, we were split into groups and taken on a tour through the house. Our own guide was Tim ‘Carbon’ Wendel from Legacy, who quickly showed us the setup of their home. Each player had their own room to themselves, with a common living area for team training. Understandably, much of the house was fairly spartan in nature, with a larger focus on training.
All in all, it was a pretty unique experience. In any profession, it’s quite something to actually meet people willing to go the distance to achieve success.
