Everything You Need To Know About Star Wars Battlefront II Before Jumping In

WE’VE TEAMED UP WITH EA TO TELL YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT II BEFORE JUMPING INTO THE GALACTIC WAR.

After being revealed 6 months ago, Star Wars Battlefront II is finally almost here. The game is full of content from all three trilogies and we’re here to tell you everything you need to know about the game before jumping in.

THE MULTIPLAYER

You’ll get to choose one of four Trooper Classes including: Officer (healer), Specialist (long range), Assault (medium range) and Heavy (close range). At launch, there’s 14 maps for you to play through in the variety of multiplayer modes. As you play through the multiplayer, you’ll unlock crates which will contain Star Cards. Star Cards can be attached to heroes, vehicles and weapons in order to make you more powerful during battle.

Battlefront II’s multiplayer has six modes which are all quite different from each-other.

Arcade: Arcade Mode is probably where you’ll want to start. It’s the best mode to get a grasp on the controls as well as how to handle different scenarios. It’s mission based, that can be played with a friend or on your own.

Galactic Assault: Galactic Assault is one of two main attractions. The battle takes place between two teams of 20 in order to complete a series of objectives across multiple parts of the map. It’s fast-paced, frantic and an absolute geek out session for Star Wars fans alike with some of the most iconic locations and vehicles featuring in all their glory.

Starfighter Assault: Starfighter Assault is the other incredibly meaty multiplayer mode. You’ll play as one of 24 players in a series of objectives, taking over ships within the fighter, bomber or interceptor class.

Strike: Strike is an intense 8 on 8 mode where you’ll need to work together as a team to complete or sabotage a certain objective. It’s a best of 3 and there’s no heroes in this mode, instead relying on your shooting abilities.

Blast: Blast is a classic 10 vs 10 deathmatch. It’ll feel incredibly familiar for any shooter fan and is all about destroying your opponent using one of the four combat classes.

Heroes VS Villains: This is Star Wars at its best. It’s an epic 4 on 4 battle where you’ll make use of some of the most iconic heroes within the Star Wars universe. Obviously, you’ll want to start with Darth Maul or Yoda.

THE CAMPAIGN

The story of Star Wars Battlefront II is a brand new one, taking place between the end of Return of the Jedi all the way up until the beginning of The Force Awakens. It follows Iden Versio who is a Commander of Inferno Squad. She’s a part of the Empire, so the story tells us what happened following the battle of Endor (and subsequent  death of the Emperor). Not only will you get to play as Iden, but you’ll also play missions as iconic heroes such as Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa and Kylo Ren. The campaign also takes you to some locations which are exclusive to this mode.

POST LAUNCH CONTENT

Unlike the last game, all post-launch content in Star Wars Battlefront II will be free to download. So far, EA has already detailed the first month of content (beginning December 5th).

It includes a brand new single-player mission which follows Iden during the First Order’s rise to power. From a multiplayer point of view, we’ll get two new characters (Finn and Captain Phasma), two new maps (Crait for Galactic Assault & D’Qar for Starfighter Assault) and a new vehicle (Starfighter Tallie’s R2-A2 A-Wing).

Star Wars Battlefront II is out on Friday, November 17th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. You can find out more about the game HERE.
