While there were nothing hugely unexpected at the Xbox + Bethesda Showcase, there was a strong commitment to showing largely gameplay and on that promise, I think Xbox delivered.
But there was a heap shown and, even better, we’ll be able to play all of this stuff within the next twelve months.
That being said, there was a lot, so let’s get straight into it.
The game is certainly doing more than Bethesda has ever done with a game before, but I’ll let the gameplay reveal do the speaking. It’s releasing in 2023 and is exclusive to Xbox and PC.
The trailer showed us a little bit of combat and introduced us to the cast of characters you’ll be able to play as and even some of the funky gadgets you’ll be able to use during your time on Redfall. It’s yet to be dated beyond 2023 though, so you’ll have to wait a bit.
Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal are all making the jump to Xbox and they’ll be available on Game Pass too. Persona 5 Royal hits in October.
If you’ve been following leaks, I’m sorry, but Kojima took to the stage to confirm he was working on something with Xbox that leverages their cloud technology in a unique way to deliver something nobody has ever experienced before. I think I believe them.
We haven’t heard much about the sequel since it’s last update in December 2019, so it’s good to have some proper footage. Still no release date, though, but it’s going to be available on Game Pass when it does release.
It’s a brand new game from the creator of Rick and Morty that has you fighting aliens. The twist? Your guns are all also aliens that speak to you. The game is a console launch exclusive for Xbox and is releasing in October 2022.
Game Pass subscribers will be able to play the slew of Riot Games with all champions unlocked. Whether you play League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics or Valorant, every champion will be unlocked in those games as a subscriber.
The footage really does a great job of showing how the game is expanding to offer a lot more than the original. While it still hasn’t been dated yet, it’s still coming this year apparently and this footage (captured on Series X) is looking super juicy.
The developers showed off footage of Maple Valley – a fan favourite track from the series. You can expect real-time weather effects and a 48x improvement in physics simulations. Look, cars aren’t my jam but it’s coming in between March and June in 2023 which is great for you.
I don’t foresee a reality in which this will ever be my thing but the commitment to expanding Flight Simulator so many times each year is pretty fantastic. This new pack commemorates the franchise’s 40th anniversary and releases in October this year. A free Halo plane is also coming to the game. By soon, I mean today! I don’t really know what there is to this but it looks cool and Halo-y yes.
It’s free to play now and is hitting all major consoles in October in early access. The new character was also shown off and is a Junker Queen with a shockingly bad Australian accent.
It promises to take you through multiple eras of history and looks to be like a bit of a Civilisation vibe. It’s developed by Oxide Games, and is a real-time strategy game that’ll launch on PC Game Pass. There’s no release date yet, though.
It’s out next week, which is exciting. Whoever is buying these is clearly persistent as there’s still new ones coming so well done, whoever you are.
It’s called The Pitt, which any classic Fallout fan will recognise and I love me a bit of Petula Clark so lets go honestly.
You’ll be able to loop the loop in the skies above Mexico in a whole range of Hot Wheels vehicles. It’s out next month (that’s July if you’re reading this any other time than June).
He’s shirtless and riding a dinosaur. I know Brodie is keen. It’s coming to Game Pass in 2023, with no further details just yet. The latest we have is that it’s a “definitive next-gen survival experience”.
I really don’t know what to feel about this game but it definitely makes me feel something. I’m still deciding if it’s a pleasant feeling or not. It’s releasing on October 21st this year for Xbox Series X|S. It’ll also be available on Game Pass at launch.
You seem to play as a mad person with an axe and a pet that lets you phase through things which is nice. It’s out in early 2023.
Whoever thought that blocks could look this good? It’s a new action strategy game from Mojang and is releasing in 2023.
It’s a spacey farming simulator that has you building up your homestead on a strange planet. It arrives in early access sometime before June 2023.
It’s been everywhere else previously, so it’s nice to see whatever this is on Xbox.
