Games Coming Out In September That You Should Be Excited For

A decent month!

It’s finally happening, 2022 is beginning to ramp up with big, new video game releases. September brings with it the heavy hitters of The Last of Us Part I, Splatoon 3, NBA 2K23 and FIFA 23 but it also marks some exciting left-of-field stuff like the Version 1.0 releases of Ooblets, Temtem and Grounded as well as some food for Square Enix tragics in the forms of The DioField Chronicle and Valkyrie Elysium.

Take our advice and watch how much you commit to this month though – October is going to be a monster.

Ooblets

A life simulation game that brings together farming elements seen in games like Story of Seasons and Stardew Valley with the creature collecting and battling mechanics of Pokemon.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R

Release Date: Friday, 2nd September 2022

Collecting content from the first eight-story arcs of the long-running manga series, All Star Battle R is a fighting game that remasters the original game from 2013 with additional included and paid content. It also includes crossplay between Xbox and Steam, which is cool.

Release Date: Tuesday, 6th September 2022

This month, the contentious action-adventure game from Experiment 101 makes the jump to the newer consoles. While it’s a free update, it’ll allow players to experience the world in native 4K, up to 60FPS, and more.

The Tomorrow Children: Phoenix Edition

Steelrising

From the team that brought us Greedfall, comes Steelrising. Playing similarly to Dark Souls, it features challenging battles against the backdrop of the French Revolution in Paris. You play as Aegis, one of the robots in King Louis’ army, as you revolt to try and change the tide of history.

NBA 2K23

Release Date: Friday, 9th September 2022

While these games release every year, this year NBA 2K23 is looking to improve on it’s player AI as well as controls to ensure everyone can have a fair go. And Michael Jordan’s back, kind of, which is cool, right?

Splatoon 3

The Diofield Chronicle
