Nintendo have announced that three 2DS Special Editions will be coming to Australia themed around the Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow versions in early 2016. The consoles will be released on February 27th. It will retail for $149.95.
In a fitting tribute to where it all began, the Nintendo 2DS Special Edition bundles include a Nintendo 2DS system in transparent red, blue or yellow and a pre-installed Virtual Console version of Pokémon Red Version, Pokémon Blue Version or Pokémon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition, corresponding to the Nintendo 2DS system’s colour. Sure to trigger warm feelings of nostalgia, the Nintendo 2DS Special Edition bundles (SRP $AU149.95) also feature classic packaging reminiscent of the original Game Boy games, a sheet of 15 stickers that can be used to customise the Nintendo 2DS system, and a download code for a HOME Menu theme.
Meanwhile, fans who own a New Nintendo 3DS system can look forward to two new sets of Cover Plates – a Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon set featuring artwork from the game on February 20 and another set decked out in artwork of classic Pokémon (SRP $AU24.95). The Nintendo 2DS Special Edition bundles and Pokémon themed Cover Plates, along with the Virtual Console releases in Nintendo eShop, will all be available from February 27, the same day that the original games first released in Japan in 1996.

Any chance that I preorder the 2ds and they turn around and release 3ds?
Australia getting the poop covered end of the stick. Terrible 2DS while the rest of the world gets some amazing looking stuff.

Shame its just a 3DS for America though. I'd want it to be an XL. Also they're just face plates.
And with that said I also had a little rant on Nintendo's facebook page on the post they made regarding Australia getting the 2DS's instead of the awesome Pokemon themed *New* 3DS.
Unfortunately I am not. we get the shitty 2DS whilst America gets a themed *New* 3DS.
Must admit that this looks incredibly nice!
Problem is which one?
