JB Hi-Fi Game Reviews Are Settling The Potato Cake VS Potato Scallop Debate

It’s no secret that JB Hi-Fi’s epic game reviews are probably the best part of shopping for video games IRL, but some clever staff members have taken it to the next level. They’re now using hilarious gaming puns to debate the age old potato cake VS potato scallop debate.

For those that don’t know, we in Victoria call those delicious fried potato goodies ‘potato cakes’ (aka the correct term) but the weirdos in NSW call them potato scallops.

There’s some classic reviews for a variety of games including Injustice 2, Overcooked and AFL Evolution. Each of them are well worth a look and we’re being told that more will come as staff members try to claim their stake in this epic debate.

  • 1st - I love JB.

2nd - They're Potato Cakes - I've lived in SA, NT and ACT, and it wasn't until this became a thing that I learned there were parts of Australia that called it Scallops.

Scallops live in the ocean. Scalloped Potatoes are sliced potatoes. Potato cakes are grated potatoes.
