The Publisher Of Firewatch And Untitled Goose Game Is Hosting Its Own Showcase This Month

Don't Panic!

Panic Inc, the folks behind that charming little yellow, crank-based gaming handheld the Playdate, and publishers of indie gems like Firewatch and Untitled Goose Game, have revealed that they’re hosting their very own Panic Games Showcase at the end of this month to give gamers a fresh look at some of their upcoming games as well as brand-new announcements.

The Panic Games Showcase will run at 3AM AEST on Wednesday, August 30th and run for around 20 minutes. Panic will have new game announcements to share, as well as a “fun” update on Nour: Play With Your Food and an in-depth look at Despelote. The publisher has also confirmed that the showcase will not feature any Playdate news.

Nour: Play With Your Food was one of our favourite demos from the recent Steam Demo Fest, an experimental “food art” game that’s full of unique and surprising interactions and neat things to discover. You can play the demo for yourself right here. Meanwhile, Despelote is a slice-of-life adventure about childhood and soccer with a striking aesthetic coming to PlayStation, Xbox and PC next year.

“A lot of people out there know us as makers of Mac software like Transmit and Nova,” Panic’s co-founder Cabel Sasser said in a press release. “And some people know us as the creators of the Playdate handheld video game system. And honestly, not very many people know us as the publisher of Firewatch and Untitled Goose Game. We thought it’d be fun to put on a little show and let the world know about the wonderful games we’ve been working on publishing, from amazing developers all around the world. Please tune in, as we’re pretty confident you’ll find a neat game or two that speaks to you.”
