LEGO and Star Wars are getting ready to celebrate May the 4th in style this year with a massive drop of new LEGO Star Wars sets, the arrival of Star Wars in Fortnite’s LEGO mode and more, all with a focus on 2000’s Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace and the 25th anniversary of Star Wars’ very first LEGO sets.
The big-ticket news – the new LEGO building sets – includes some pretty exciting kits. The TIE Interceptor from the 2000 Ultimate Collector Series is returning with a 1,931-piece kit that sits on a printed plague with a special LEGO Star Wars anniversary logo brick, and Phantom Menace fans are being treated to a very cool diorama set based on the Mos Espa Podrace that features a number of neat touches. Fans and builders can also look forward to dropping cash on Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator, a Droideka model, BARC Speeder Escape set and some new BrickHeadz.
Coming a day earlier, LEGO Fortnite is will be getting new LEGO Star Wars content, though little has been said about what this will entail just yet. A “LEGO Star Wars 25-Second Film Festival” will also be happening on the official LEGO YouTube channel, showcasing fan-submitted 25-second films made using LEGO Star Wars figurines and kits.
