Ys X: Nordics’ Western Release Date Has Been Revealed

Falcom and NIS America have revealed the highly-anticipated date for the Western release of Ys X: Nordics, the 10th mainline entry in the long running and beloved action RPG series.

Originally released in Japan in 2023, Ys X: Nordics’ is officially headed to PS5, PS4, Switch and PC worldwide on October 25th.

The game will be released digitally on all platforms locally, with a physical release of the Deluxe Edition confirmed for Switch and available to pre-order at JB Hi-Fi and EB Games. Physical Deluxe and Limited Editions are available to pre-order in other regions but there’s no word yet on local availability.

Ys X: Nordics continues to follow series protagonist Adol, taking place between the events of Ys II and Ys: Memories of Celceta, and introducers newcomer Karja as a second playable lead. It also features a ship for players to use as their home base, explore the seas to make new discoveries and engage in naval battles along with the series’ familiar gameplay.

Here’s a brief rundown of what to expect from Ys X: Nordics according to NISA:

  • Two Heroes, One Story – Bound by unexpected circumstances, the young adventurer Adol and the Norman pirate Karja must work together to determine the fate of Obelia Gulf and its people.
  • Cross Action System – Swap between controlling Adol and Karja independently or together. Combine their unique strengths to overcome enemies, and build up the Revenge Gauge to unleash devastating attacks.
  • The Power of Mana – Harness the unique abilities of Mana to overcome challenges. Grapple and slide through dungeons, demolish obstacles, create new platforms, and uncover hidden treasures and critical points.
  • Sailor’s Delight – The sailing ship known as the Sandras takes your exploration to new levels. Ocean travel, naval battles, and discovering uncharted islands are all made possible with this seaworthy vessel.
