Alongside the announcement of Dragon Ball Super’s sequel anime this morning, Dragon Ball announced a brand new video game project, currently titled Age 1000, which is set to release in 2027.

While we’ll have to wait until the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour event, which takes place in April, to learn more about the project, it’s been revealed that it’ll feature a brand new, original character designed by Akira Toriyama, who sadly passed away in 2024.

There’s early speculation, courtesy of the title, that the game will take place in some far-flung future. However, what’s clear is that the character appears to be a part of Capsule Corp., can turn Super Saiyan, and has some link to Goku.

It’s hard to know what form the new game will take, although the most recent Dragon Ball video game, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, proved to be an enormous success for the brand, topping pre-order charts before going on to sell a few million copies in its first few days. So, we’d expect Age 1000 to enjoy similar success.

Once we hear more about Dragon Ball: Age 1000, we’ll report back.
