According to Blizzard, Overwatch Rush is a free-to-play title (with optional in-app purchases) being developed by a dedicated international team separate from Team 4, the team responsible for Overwatch. Following the hugely successful recent launch of Overwatch Season 1, Team 4 will remain focused on bringing exciting new experiences to PC and console players, while the Overwatch Rush team, all of whom have extensive experience in mobile development, will focus on building this entirely new game from the ground up, specifically for mobile players on iOS and Android devices. Controller is not supported in the current version of Overwatch Rush, but as testing and development continue, the team is considering different options.
Overwatch Rush is currently in the very early stages of development, but Blizzard has indicated that playtesting in specific countries and regions is coming soon for supported mobile devices with the following minimum specs:
iOS
Android
It’s far too early to say when Overwatch Rush will launch, but stay tuned for more development updates from us or join the official Overwatch Rush Discord to learn more.
