The first batch of Steam Controller units went online this morning in Australia and other parts of the world and whilst Australian pre-orders lasted a bit longer than they did in the US and UK, they’ve now sold out as well with no sign of when they’ll be back online for order.
Naturally, the controllers are already being scalped on eBay with most listings being online for $300 or more which is double the retail price of the controller.
The Steam Controller features next-gen magnetic thumbsticks, high definition rumble, grip enabled gyro, two trackpads, motion controll, back buttons, a Steam Button and Quick Access menu button and can be used with anything that runs Steam. One of the most innovative features of the controller is the Steam Controller Puck which comes included. This is a wireless transmitter (the controller also supports Bluetooth) that also acts as a wireless charging station as well
