The XBOX Games Showcase happened overnight as part of Summer Game Fest, kicking off with an extended gameplay of Gears of War: E-Day. Fronting the camera straight after the reveal, Asha Sharma confirmed this week’s speculation taht the game will be “XBOX console exclusive.”
The gameplay shows a vertical slice of the game with Emergence Day in full effect. Set 14 years before the original game, it follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago as the Locust Horde first erupts from below.
The game looks glorious with insane environment details, particle effects and plenty of gore courtesy of the Lancer.
Most interestingly, XBOX have walked away from the game coming out on PlayStation, confirming it will be an XBOX console exclusive as part of their push to revitalise the XBOX brand.
