Nintendo Australia has revealed that a second shipment of NES Classic Mini will be coming to Australia in early December. It’s likely that it’ll still be hard to get one. Nintendo is advising to pay attention to local retailers.
The Nintendo NES Classic Mini is currently sold out pretty much Australia wide after going on sale today.

I got the console, but all the stores has only a few spare controllers, so I missed out as did others. I hope they are planning to release more spare controllers, the value of this is halved if you only have one. And yes, I realise other controllers will work with it, but this is about nostalgia!
