With the Nintendo Direct taking place on Friday, we now have a better idea for which games we can expect to be playing on Nintendo Switch over the next 12-18 months.
Whilst the earlier part of this year was filled with ports and the like, Nintendo is really beginning to hit their straps when it comes to detailing games that to release in the short term, drip-feeding us information for games that are 6 months or so away and then teasing the next generation of Switch games.
Looking at this graphic that Reddit user ‘ ‘ had created, not too many Switch owners could be unhappy with the games they’re getting in the coming 12-18 months.
It’s a little bit surprising to me that Super Mario Bros U Deluxe is coming in January (would have been on a lot of Christmas lists), but then again, Nintendo have Super Mario Party, Pokemon Let’s GO and Super Smash Bros Ultimate which is far more than enough, and you can only release so many games before they start taking away sales from each other.
In terms of third party games, we’re starting to see a lot more publishers get on board early on in the release cycle. Whilst it could still be better (and comes down to power at a certain point), it’s gotten a lot better than the Nintendo Switch in the first year.
