The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s Second Trailer Has Dropped And It’s Packed With Game References

As promised, Nintendo has dropped a gorgeous new trailer for the upcoming animated Super Mario Bros. Movie.

After a fairly positive reception to the debut promo featuring the film’s portrayals of Bowser, Mario and Toad, this new trailer gives us a first look at Peach, voiced by the excellent Anya Taylor-Joy as well as Seth Rogen’s Donkey Kong and Charlie Day as Luigi.

There’s a better sense of the story at play in this trailer, as well as some interesting scenes featuring classic Mario platforming concepts and even some recognisable power-ups and a bit of Rainbow Road Mario Kart action. You may even spot some Yoshis in the mix.

Take a look at the packed trailer below:

As previously announced, the film is being produced in collaboration between Shigeru Miyamoto/Nintendo and Chris Meledandri/Illumination and will feature a star-studded cast including Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black, Charlie Day, Seth Rogen, Keegan-Michael Key and Charles Martinet.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is so far set to release in US theatres on April 7th, 2023 and in Japan on April 28th, 2023.
