Biomutant Is Apparently Coming To The Nintendo Switch In 2024

Here’s a somewhat unexpected bit of Switch porting news. According to frequent and trustworthy leaker, billbil-kun on Twitter, Biomutant is finally getting its oft-rumoured port to Nintendo’s handheld – but not until early next year.

There’s not much info to go off in terms of how the game will look or run on the Switch, but according to billbil-kun, the game is coming on “approximately” February 14th next year at a price of $39.99 USD (roughly $60 AUD).

It’s certainly an odd choice. Biomutant wasn’t overly well-received (I didn’t mind it) but it’s arguably old news now and by February 2024 both it and the Nintendo Switch will be showing their respective age quite noticeably.

Experiment 101’s ambitious gun-fu open world furry RPG was released in 2021 to mixed reviews, with our own James Berich saying “Biomutant is a vibrant and beautiful looking game that unsuccessfully attempts to leverage so many different aspects of open-world games from the last decade. It buckles under the weight of its own ambition and is sorely lacking the focus needed to offer a stand-out open-world experience and carve out its own identity.”

A version of the game for the new generation of consoles materialised in September last year, making some sweeping improvements and upping the quality and performance of the game’s visuals as a free upgrade to existing owners.

We’ll be keeping a furry ear to the ground for any more news around this one.

“BIOMUTANT® is an open-world, post-apocalyptic Kung-Fu fable RPG, with a unique martial arts styled combat system allowing you to mix melee, shooting and mutant ability action.

A plague is ruining the land and the Tree-of-Life is bleeding death from its roots. The Tribes stand divided. Explore a world in turmoil and define its fate – will you be its saviour or lead it to an even darker destiny?”
