One of the biggest issues with trading a console in to get a new one has historically been that you need to wait to get the new one to transfer your data over, but Nintendo has just solved that with its latest 20.0.0 system update.
Following this update, you can now backup your Nintendo Switch console which will be stored on a dedicated server until the Nintendo Switch 2 releases and you can then restore your backup on the new console.
This will factory reset your original Switch and it seems you won’t be able to access this data on an original Switch, so it’s only for those upgrading, but it’s still a great solution.
You can find the full description of it below:
System Transfer to Nintendo Switch 2 has been added under System Settings > System.
