Square Enix and producer Naoki Yoshida (or Yoshi-P) have somewhat lifted the lid on the previously-teased Final Fantasy XIV collaboration with this year’s PS5 banger, Final Fantasy XVI. The reveal comes as part of a showcase of new information on Final Fantasy XIV’s Dawntrail expansion, which is set to launch in Winter next year.
The video, which you can watch below, shows a party (including a distinctly Clive Rosfield-looking fella) squaring off against the Eikon, and icon, Ifrit – along with an incredible Torgal mount and pet:
Elsewhere in the keynote at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2023 in London, the team showed off new looks at the Dawntrail expansion including the first new job reveal in the very “Zidane ala Final Fantasy IX”-esque Viper, along with the new city of Tuliyollal, the new tropical region of Kozama’uka, new raid and more.
