Epic Games has announced that its first FPS mode is launching into early access on December 11th.
It’s called Fortnite Ballistic and it’s clearly CS: GO/Valorant inspired with its 5v5 approach. It’s a round-based mode in which you’ll be sorted into two teams: attackers and defenders.
The goal of the attackers is to plant the Rift Point device that can be primed at one of two sites on the map and obviously it’s the defender’s goal to defend these sites.
As you could probably guess, there’s no respawning and the round end ones the device detonates or either side is totally eliminated.
Just like other games in this genre, you can purchase weapons between each rounds and there will be five gadgets (Proximity Mine, Bubble Shield, Frag Grenade, Recon Grenade, and Impulse Grenade) that you can choose at the start of each match.
At launch, it’ll have one map, a small amount of weapons and items and these will be added to as time goes on.
