Previously announced at E3 last year, Bethesda today revealed a little bit more about their two upcoming titles DEATHLOOP and Ghostwire: Tokyo.
DEATHLOOP is the next game from Arkane Lyon, the developers who bought us the Dishonored games. In the game, you play as Colt, an assassin trapped in a time loop on the island of Blackreef, repeating the same day for eternity. The trailer gives a little bit more context for Colt’s situation – he has to assassinate eight key targets to escape the loop. The twist? There’s a rival assassin named Julianna who wants to protect the loop and assassinate Colt.
While yet to be officially confirmed it looks as if you’ll be able to play as Colt and Julianna separately. Perhaps even online against each other? We’ll have to wait and see.

A little surprisingly, Ghostwire: Tokyo looks to be a first-person action-adventure game that has players investigating the streets of Tokyo after it’s been taken over by spirits and supernatural threats. Your character has a bunch of tech and elemental abilities to command and upgrade, and the game uses 3D sound to great effect to give the eerie streets of Tokyo a sense of depth and realism. The game is being developed by Tango Gameworks, a studio helmed by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami who previously brought us The Evil Within games.

DEATHLOOP is planned for release later this year in 2020. Ghostwire: Tokyo will be releasing in 2021 at this stage. Both games will be launching on Playstation 5 and PC.
