This morning, PlayStation hosted a State of Play which gave us an updated look at some new titles as well as some brand-new announcements.
The showcase focused entirely on third party games, with a few of updates on upcoming indies as well as a handful of surprises.
Here’s a rundown of everything announced and shown off:
The show opened with a new announcement, a surprise new multiplayer melee survival game based on Suda51’s Let It Die called Deathverse. It’s got all the zany, sadistic characters and violence you’d expect from the now-franchise, and if it’s anything like its predecessor it’ll likely be free-to-play supported by microtransactions. Deathverse is coming to PS5 and PS4 in 2022.
The episodic narrative adventure continues to look stylish as hell, and the new trailer had plenty of jokes about State of Play presentations. It’ll feature five episodes in total, each with plenty of drama and dialogue choices as well as a new interactive music video per episode. We are OFK is coming to PS5 and PS4 at some point in 2022.
Young Horses’ indie darling is getting a big free update in 2022 that includes giant Bugsnax, a customisable home and new adventures on a brand-new island. It’s coming at some point in 2022.
The new first-person take on Five Nights At Freddy’s brand of animatronic horror got a new look, showing a bunch of creepy ‘bots and some tasty visuals. Five Nights At Freddy’s Security Breach is coming December 16, 2021.
Death’s Door is headed to PlayStation! The early indie GOTY contender for this year is making its way to PS5 and PS4 on November 23, 2021 and comes with a free copy of Titan Souls.
KartRider Drift is screeching over from PC and Xbox, bringing its unique brand of racing to PlayStation consoles. A playable beta is planned for 2022 and you can register to participate now.
A beta for the newest entry in the long-running fighting franchise is coming with eight playable characters, including new fighter Dolores. The beta starts Nov 19/20 worldwide. Feb 17, 2022 for PS5 and PS4.
This asynchronous multiplayer game is all about high-tech espionage, and a couple of the developers showed off a quick look at a match in action. The game is coming to PS5 and PS4 on November 2, 2021 and will be free for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
In a surprise, Tri-Ace has revealed a look at a brand-new Star Ocean game with footage of exploration and combat that looks to meet the standards of the series’ gameplay and visuals. We didn’t get a lot of concrete information about the game’s narrative. Star Ocean The Divine Force is coming to PS5 and PS4 at some point in 2022.
The show closed with a new look at the long-awaited indie darling, Little Devil inside, showing the character getting into a train to traverse its picturesque world. We get a glimpse at the game’s inventory, dialogue and quest systems alongside its adorable world map. We also got a look at combat and fishing in various environments. Little Devil Inside is coming to PS5 and PS4… at some point.
