Here’s How Much It’ll Cost To Buy Or Upgrade To The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim developer, Bethesda Softworks, has posted a new FAQ ahead of the release of the Anniversary Edition of the game next week that answers long-standing questions about the pricing of the new version of the game.

The Anniversary Edition, which celebrates 10 years since Skyrim first released, collects every bit of official content released for the game as well as over 500 pieces of content made by the community with Creation Club.

One of the biggest questions answered is that of pricing, and Bethesda has finally confirmed both the standalone pricing for the game as well as the fee for owners of the previous Special Edition to upgrade:

  • The RRP for the Skyrim Anniversary Edition on digital storefronts will be AUD $79.95 at launch.
  • If you already own Skyrim Special Edition, the RRP for the Anniversary Upgrade on digital storefronts will be AUD $29.95 at launch.

The article also mentions that physical versions of the game will be available, though at the time of writing the only local retailer that mentions the release is EB Games with a placeholder listing.

The post also reveals that the next-gen upgrade for the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X will be available at no extra cost for owners of either the Anniversary Edition or the Special Edition – meaning it won’t be necessary to purchase the new version to get the upgrades.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition releases on November 11, 2021 for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
