Skull & Bones News Is Apparently Coming Soon After Six Minutes Of Gameplay Leaked

After being revealed for the first time at E3 2017, Ubisoft Singapore’s naval-combat-driven pirate tale Skull & Bones has spent several years in development hell. That is until a full six minutes of the game’s technical test build leaked yesterday.

In the video embedded below, which is still up at the time of posting, we get a pretty good look at what to expect from Skull & Bones, and that is a game that captures the spirit of naval combat as pioneered by games like Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, but features none of the on-foot combat and exciting swashbuckling that accompanied it.

Set during the golden age of piracy in the Indian Ocean, it’s a rags-to-riches story for your pirate captain who’ll no doubt pilfer and steal beyond the modest starting dhow vessel to become one of the world’s most infamous pirates.

The leak prompted the game’s official Twitter page to get on the front foot and affirm the fact that news about Skull & Bones would, indeed, be coming and to “keep your eyes on the horizon.”

Skull & Bones is, at this stage, only assured to be released in Ubisoft’s fiscal year, which ends March 31, 2023.
